Thanks Rory! I've done quite a few double-besom pockets, if that's what a jetted pocket is, so I'll keep that in mind for the future if I end up with a thick fabric again, I actually did try folding back the welt corner inside before cutting it back, but the fabric is a mess of fraying threads. I ended up applying a small square of fusible on the underside of the welt to keep the fraying somewhat under control. I also had to whipstitch around all the cut edges inside the front panels to control fraying.
