My sleeve looks perfect when I hold the coat, when I try the coat on I get a curtain as in the picture. Will this disappear when the sleeve head wadding is in, or is the front pitch too low…?

If I lift the from ½ inch it disappears - 2nd photo.

OR is it something else entirely?

Please note - this is a 1927 pattern with 2 ¾ inches of fullness in the sleeve head, hence the sleeve looks very “Downton Abbey”
