For behind the button holes I usually put a piece of fusing but I only do this on the cuffs. Another place I put a small piece of fusing which I've uploaded images (below) is on the wrong side of the facing where snipping into the notch when turning it out if that makes sense? Just so it does not fray when turning it out in a very delicate area.

It can be frustrating & tiresome having to have to rip down, re-mark & re-baste. Heck I get tired too of doing bastes and re-bastes. Take your time doing it don't rush through it. Enjoy the process. Don't worry to much about the lawn mower part, take it easy when ripping down the garment you, take the bastings out carefully and give every part a smooth over with the iron & you should be fine 🙂

Evening Robbie, I am currently working on a soft loose/ish weave fabric at the moment. I tend to put small squares of sticky at the end of the pockets jets so no fraying happens when making cuts when turning into jets. When pulling basting threads out go easy and just be attentive when doing it that you do not catch the fabric & snag. Fusing on the facing I only ever do that on lightweight linens that I want to get extra crisp and give a little more body. You really have to make sure that its proper fused on but like 10000% ON otherwise it will just bubble up and no matter how much you press it once the facings are turned out it wont go away. What fabric is it your working on?

I tend to leave about 1 roughly. Sometimes it can be more or less depending on how much inlay the cutter has left when striking out. Customers sometimes change their minds at fittings and might want a smaller or larger lapel. The more inlay you leave the more you can play around with it.
