Hi Rory, thanks for the advice. Do you think it's best to keep the the pattern how it is and then make the adjustments during the fitting process or should I adjust the pattern first?

Thanks Rory, I'm very pleased with the outcome. Are there an adjustments to my pattern you think I should make for my next jacket. Also, I'm aiming to start on the trousers this weekend and was wondering for the fly guard do I need to draft a pattern piece based on my topside pattern or can I just use the pattern piece you provide?

Hi David. I reduced the entire centre back (points 0-2 on the draft) by 1/2" so I think the half neck measurement (points 0-11 on the draft) is also reduced. Should I not have reduced the half neck measurement?

I've just finished my second fitting. The changes I've made are: 1. 3/4" taken off the front edge of the foreparts 2. Narrowed the half back by 1/2" at the centre back 3. Increased the right shoulder angle by 1/2" on both the front and back The suit seems to fit much better with these adjustments and adjusting the shoulder angle has removed the wrinkle on the righthand side of the back Due to narrowing the back by 1" I had issues getting the edge of the collar to match the breakline. Do I need to reshape the collar or can I add additional fullness to get the collar to match?

Hi Rory, thanks for the advice. To narrow the half back do I reduce the entire centre back from point 0 – 2? When you say narrow the half back by 1/2” inch do you mean reduce each side of the centre back by 1/2” inch reducing the back by a total of 1” or reduce each side by 1/4” inch reducing the back by a total of 1/2”    To increase the back shoulder angle by 1/2” do I move point 14 down 1/2” and do I need to also make this change to the front shoulder? I assume I only need to do this to the right shoulder as this is the side with the wrinkle. If I move point 14 down by 1/2” do I also need to adjust the bottom of the armscye by 1/2” to keep it the same size?

I followed the drafting hte coat pattern video, expect I made these adjustments for a 4 inch drop: Add 1/4” to the half back pt6 Add 3/4” to the armhole width pt19 Add 3/4” to the front edge Reduce the hip 5/8” at pt8 Take 3/4” out at pt44 the underarm cut. The measurements I provided above where including the seam allowance. If i reduced them by the four 3/8" seam allowances they would be: Chest: (point 1 to point 21) = 23" 2/8 Waist: (point 9 to line 21) = 20" 7/8 Seat: (point 4 to line 21) = 22" 5/8. Hi Rory, Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure what you mean by the finished chest, waist and seat. I've assumed you meant the measuring the chest, waist and seat line across the 3 pattern pieces. Chest: (point 1 to point 21) = 24" 6/8 Waist: (point 9 to line 21) = 22" 3/8 Seat: (point 4 to line 21) = 24" 1/8. Thanks for your help with this - much appreciated. Richard
