@martinkuester71 those trousers look fantastic! I'm still very much a beginner, but I'd love to have a go at making some trousers like that. I'm intrigued by the waistband on the undersides. I notice that it's grown on and you are using what looks like canvas and maybe some twill tape. Is this the same in the top sides? Can you give any details on the materials and the approach you take with that? Is it any particular kind of canvas? Also, I notice that it doesn't seem to extend into the inlay of the seat seam. Do you just make a new one from scratch if the trousers need altering? What are the considerations you need to account for in the side seams? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. It's just all so fascinating 😅

Kenton trimmings are a great resource. I think they've had to downsize a bit following the pandemic, but I've had great interactions with them, very helpful.

I had a look in an old fitting book, and it said that people with my body type are the most challenging to draft and cut for, and I got a bit disheartened by that. So, any help you can offer would be very welcome. p.s. I hope you are recovering well from the Covid.

@Rory Duffy thanks for getting back to me. Just to be clear, my waist is 37 inches, not 47, so that's more of a 16 inch drop, unless I'm misunderstanding the concept.

And, I've just noticed that I'm slightly too tall for my height to appear on the head units table... 76 3/8" I promise, I'm not trying to be difficult. All of this is why I got into making clothes in the first place. No one makes clothes that fit me. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

The other thing to add, is that my limbs are disproportionately long for my height (for example, my arm span is 6' 9"), or conversely, my torso is short for my height. So, is there a systematic way to adjust if the head units aren't quite right?

I have a 16" drop, so I would very much like to see that.

Following on from the conversation about account type. I phoned them and got an immediate response (as you said I would [thanks for the suggestion]). In case anyone asks again, for someone following along with the video series and not currently working in the industry, they suggested the "student" account type. Regarding the trimming packages. In the video for the trousers, you list the following items: • Cloth 1.75 m • Knee lining • Drab linen • Cotton pocketing • Stripe lining 0.25m • Fusing • Zip • Hook and bars • Sliders • Buttons • Waistband stiffener Whereas Dugdales list the following, the most notable difference being the lack of waistband stiffener: • Cloth • Trouser fasteners • Zip • Brace button • Magi slides • Strap button • Silesia • Lining • Linen Canvas • Sleeve Lining I think I remember seeing in a comment of yours that you had been on to them about the changes to the trimming packs. Have you had any response? Right now I'm trying to decide whether to suck it up and just add some extra waistband stiffener to my basket. I haven't started following along with either of the coat making courses yet, so I don't know if there's anything missing from those packs. Thanks for sharing the video. For those that don't understand German: Open the video in YouTube (by clicking YouTube on the bottom right hand side of the video), turn on the subtitles (the button at the bottom of the video that looks like a box with morse code in it), click on the settings button, click on the subtitles setting option, click "autotranslate", and set the translation language to the language of your preference. Voila.

I've started off with watching the trouser series and it is truly an incredible resource. I want you to know that your efforts are recognised and appreciated. I will definitely move on to the coat making videos in due course. In the video series you mention your pattern drafting book. If that's available for purchase I would happily buy it, not only for my own benefit, but also as a way of supporting your endeavours even further. Is it available for purchase? I would of course love to be able to join your online pattern drafting course, but at present that is outside of my reach (maybe one day in the not too distant future). A final question, regarding getting the trimming packs from Dugdales, I went to their website and found that I had to create an account. I emailed them to ask what "account type" would be most appropriate, a required input, but they didn't respond. Would you say that following along with your videos means that I should choose the "student" type account?
