My Dad will be turning 75 tomorrow and he asked me for a house coat - so I got some cloth, a pattern and some ideas.
Adding additional piping to the collar and the cuffs looks nice, I think.
And as there are too many layers, including the very slippery, very soft lining, to control, I don't want to take the chance of borking this with the machine ... so it's felling and back stitching all the way!
(Felling to sew the front edge of the piping to the gown, back stitch to secure the upper side of the collar and the back edge of the piping)
Back stitching is especially hard, with 4 layers of cotton with fusible interfacing and two layers of delicate lining... If I'm done, my middle finger (Thimble - of course!) will have biceps of its own! 🤣
I'd love to see the finished garment.
