If the cloth is loosely then yeah there’s a real chance you could end up with the buttonholes pulling out.Good thread is key, Dugdales do offer a wide range of colours and nice thick thread silk twist.The lining company also have a good selection and an easy to follow website.
This demonstrates the value of using nice and thick thread for your buttonholes. I think I had to put in about three times as many stitches with thinner thread or it ended up looking bare! These look much more elegant.
You've managed to get the blanket stitch very close to the edge. I was worried they could slip off / fray. Were my worries misplaced?

I knew I could do better! Practised again on a piece of cloth. Probably will undo the buttonholes and make them again
