I'm wondering if there are any stitching done with a permanent thread to lock in the fullness needed in those areas? Similar to the basting stitches done with the basting thread on Ep. 26.1 Turning the Edge.

I always put a straight line of hand stitching about 12-15mm behind the roll line on the body of the coat. It goes through the lapel facing, and secures it to the chest piece (hair canvas & padding material). It doesn't pass through to the exterior of the coat - just the chest canvas. I put a similar line around the collar roll-line, about 5-6mm below it. I find it's a good addition, and it helps to stabilise these areas of the coat. Would highly recommend it.

I agree I am surprised it wasn't shown in the videos or I might have missed it. I have done those stitches. can finally remove those basting threads now 😏
