I have a coat basted together, need to re baste sleeves in after adjusting pitch before taking pics. I have an athletic build, erect posture (not significantly) but a larger than average chest.
Ive read a few fitting books including defects and remedies from the bookstore but could use some advice. Balance needs some minor tweaking. Need to reduce back length and increase front. Can someone clarify which method is actually used when lengthening front? I want to add 1/2 inch to front and ill be removing 1/2 inch from back.
A. Width is added parallel to existing seam, lapel point adjusted back, neck point crookened in the process?
B. Neck point moved vertically, in line with front dart, and crookened if necessary?
C. Wedge addted in front, crookened coat giving a tapered shoulder seam and extra length in lapel?
Like this.
Cut across the half back line on your pattern.
Take out a 1/2" wedge at pt 5 to nothing at the back pitch.
Cut across the chest line on the forepart. Open a 1/2" wedge at pt 21 to nothing at pt 19.
