Machine sewing the sleeves to the coat
I’ve been struggling to machine sew the sleeves to the coat. I think the issue is that I’ve baste stitched the canvas to close to the armsyce meaning that I can’t fold the canvas back enough to get the armsyce under the sewing machine to sew.
Can I remove some of the basting stitching that is attaching the canvas to the suit that is near the armsyce so that it would be easier to sew the sleeve?

LONG delay in anyone replying - YES you can remove the baste. I always hand stitch the sleeves on, I just find it easier and you can smooth out any creases as you go instead of sewing them in as I almost always used to. 2mm back stitch wiht waxed silk thread.
