Trouser pockets
I used the pocket bag measurements (17 in long x 16 in wide) that Rory gave to another students question on the Vimeo series. I seem to come up short. After attaching the pocket facing to the pocket bag, I fold the pocket material leaving three inches from the fold to the fly. When I do this I am basically folding the 16 inches in half. So I have an 8 inch wide pocket. I do not have the excess overhang material needed for later steps. my pocket bag material does not come out past my pocket bag facing. My guess is that the answer is I just cut a new pocket bag adding 5 inches on it. So, a 17" long and 21 inch wide piece. Hope I am on the right track now. If I am not please let me know. I am a novice. I have never made a garment before.

Great, Thank you for sharing your knowledge. The prospect of me being able to make beautiful trousers is very exciting. Being able to learn from a tailor of your calibur is rare and I am very greatful for this opportunity. I am now clear on cutting my front pocket bags.
